The Blog Dilemma

I told you I'm going to move to a new blog on 2010. I said that I would stick on Blogger. But now, I'm thinking about moving to Wordpress instead.

I still love Blogger; there's no question to that. But there are times when I really having second thoughts on posting certain stuffs because they're… personal. And here in Blogger, you cannot choose which posts could be published in public and in private. Whereas in Wordpress, I could password-protect posts that I don't want everyone to see. Livejournal has this Friends Only but I don't want LJ.

But look, Blogger is more… "customizable". I mean, I'm more free to pick the layout I want and customize it. Wordpress themes are limited, but they're "clean" though.

I was looking for ways to password-protect posts in Blogger. I've found one, though I haven't tried it yet. But what if--just what if--it doesn't work? Should I stick to Blogger? Or move to Worpress instead? Or stick to Blogger and just put the link to Wordpress in my post so it's still password-protected? But won't it be too… "magulo" for the readers?

Urk. So what? Would I choose Blogger or Wordpress? I wanna hear your opinion guys!

Working on a new blog

Yeah, I'm working on a new blog here on Blogger. This blog's anniversary is getting nearer, and I wanted to have a new blog as soon as 2010 starts. I could've let go of this one, but I guess I should wait for it to turn one year.

I've already made a new account here in blogger. I'm still thinking of the name for the blog so the URL is still temporary. I'm on a blogskin-hunt.

I would want a layout with the sidebar on the left, and navigations for my profile. Haha. And with header, too, so I could edit it and put the header I am working on. I would like a clean and simple one, but I could find any, so I was temporarily working on a pink one. Haha. But I'm still on a hunt, though.

So, in more than a month, it would be a bye-bye blog. /sob

But this would be better, I want a new start. ;)

I used to follow some other blogs too (like those of my former classmates'), but I unfollow blogs that were abandoned by the owner. These blogs were currently the blogs that I follow.

One thing I love Blogger is that it allows me to follow blogs and check out whenever they have new posts agad. Well, at the bottom part of the Dashboard, you could click the Add button, the type the URL of the blog you want to follow, hit Next, and so on and so forth. Whenever the people that I follow made a new post in their blogs, I was able to know because it is shown in the Reading List plus the except of their post, instead of always visiting the site to check out for new posts. I could also follow other blog sites other than Blogger too.

To Move, or Not To Move?

I had been thinking of abandoning this blog for a quite long time now, and make another account in Blogger. I mean, there is "something" in here that I wanted to leave. I don't know what it is, though.

But maybe I should leave ♥ banat ni nene ;] when it reached it's first anniversary. Or maybe on March so college life would be separated from here?

Uh. Don't know.

100th post!

This is my 100th post here in ♥ banat ni nene ;]. Oyea!

My blogspot has reached its one hundredth post after nine months of being established. Hoho. And its anniversary is just three months away! =D

Keeping a blog is awesome and totally helpful. I have an online diary where I could put my opinions, updates, and everyday happenings. I feel better because of that. The comments that readers make on the posts makes me know their opinions and response on what I say.

Plus, whenever I need to remember the date when a certain thing happened (like when I made a narrative report on the Glee Club or when I argued with someone about something that happened), I could just look it up on my blog. Totally cool, isn't it?

Blogging improves my knowledge in CSS whenever I edit the blog code. I know I am not still that good, but still, I learned a lot. I had a zero knowledge in CSS before and was only able to make simple HTML code.

Nakakatuwa. Blogging is really an awesome hobby. Medyo nakaka-adik lang nga. 8D

Sometimes, I am worried because in this blog, people--even anonymous ones--are able to read the things happening to me. Isn't that invasion of privacy? Pero okay lang. I blog and I know the consequences of it. Besides, wala naman nang private sa buhay co e. XD

Well, for me, people blog because of certain reasons.

First, gusto nilang magpapansin (There's nothing wrong with that, okay?)

Second, wala silang magawa at naghahanap ng pampalipas oras.

Third, they want to write.

And fourth, they need some place to rant and babble.

And, unfortunately, I fall under all those reasons. XD

I'm looking forward for more posts of mine here. Thanks for keeping up with my babbling!~

New Layout

Gyaha! Finally! After months of hunting for a nice blog skin, I already found one!

I originally planned to make my own skin, but reality bites, I couldn't still make one. Good thing my patience to look for a nice skin paid off, and I found this one.

I didn't originally like this layout that much when I first tried it out, but when I decided to edit it and saw the result, I already liked it. And I am so proud of myself because I am just the one who edited it! I didn't asked for help. Maybe I am improving. Hoho.

I am still looking for an awesome header, though, so the one in here is just temporary. I was thinking what photo should I put on. Hmmm..

Comment link is at the bottom of the post, by the way, in case you didn't notice. For comments and suggestions about the layout, just drop a message in the chatbox.

I Suck at Titles

Oh yeah. I suck at titles.

Don't you just notice how plain and simple my previous blog posts are? Yeah, the titles aren't appealing.

Yey! New layout!

At last, after months of blogskin-hunting, I already found one. :)

I really liked my previous blog layout--I love brown and pink combination--but after sometime, I grew tired of it and decided I should get a new one. Thus, the start of my search for a new layout.

It took me a pretty lot of time until I found something that I like. I was even torn between two blogskins but in the end, I decided to use this one.

I excitedly paste the layout code in my blog template and it looks good. So I edited the parts that need editing.

But I had problems with the code. It was so complex that I couldn't understand some of the it. It is a complex CSS code and I am not so knowledgeable in it because we only studied basic HTML. (I just learned some CSS on blog layout codes.)

I had trouble adding "sections" at the sides. Changing the tagboard is also a pain; I was planning to put my previous cbox but it wouldn't do. I signed up in cbox.ws and try to embed the cbox that I made ut it still had some problems. So at the end, I just gave up and use the original tagboard of the layout, although it has messages already (and continue to have from unknown users).

I also couldn't fix the comment page. Actually, it was Seru-chan (Kriselle) who helped me put the comment page in my previous layout.

Aaah. This is getting on my nerves already. Finally, I asked some help by sending GMs through text and to my contact list in YM.

Yatta! Seru-chan responded to my GM in YM. Yey! I asked her this and that, until finally she asked me if I could send her the blog code. I sent her the revised one--the one that I've already edited--and told her the things I wanted to change and add. Nilubos co na ang kanyang kabutihang-loob and asked if she could add the comment page.

Kriselle is sooo kind. I was even kinda shy and hesitant to ask help form her because she already helped me out in my previous layout. I was worried that I'm becoming a burden or disturbance to her (her status in YM is busy), but she kindly assured me it's okay. She told me that she could use the code to learn more on CSS because the layout in I:U needs to be changed.

Because she had limited time in the computer that day, she asked me if she could have the layout as her "assignment". I gladly said yes.

I continued studying and modifying the code like changing the color and size and still trying to figure out how to add section and change the tagboard.

Grabe! Hanga aco sa gumawa ng layout na ito! Ang tyaga niya dahil pati yung mismong pictures e mai code pa.

The next day, after I woke up from my nap (because I came from our swimming and was so tired), I opened the computer to edit the code again. I was about to check my Yahoo! Inbox when Kriselled PMed me, asking if I already recieved the new code she sent to me. I found it and quickly pasted it in my template, thanking Kriselle repeatedly.

I just edited some more and tada! Here is my new layout!

I can't get enough of thanking Kriselle for all the trouble she had in helping me out with my blog. She's so kind, helping ignorant person such as me. Hehe.. To think we aren't personally acquianted with each other; we just met in Imagination Unleashed forums. But she still helped me. Tuloi, I feel that I owe her a lot. And as a sign of my gratitude, I included her in the credits section. (See "Credits" at the right.)

Thank you so much, Seru-chan! I don't know how to thank you. I don't know what to do without your help. Basta, if you need my help, just PM me. I would gladly help if I can.

The appearance of my blog in IE still sucks. So if you use Internet Explorer, please use Mozilla Firefox instead. Magkakapatong kasi yung mga sections na nasa bandang baba.

I am thinking to change the image above. I would like to change it to my picture with " ♥ banat ni nene ;]" written on it. But I still don't know how to use Photoshop, just the basic ones. Perhaps I could ask someone to help me. Again. Haha.

Ang Pagbabalik

March 25, 2009; Saturday

So mai choir kame ngayon. Tinatamad pa nga acong pumunta sa school e. Binalak co pa ngang 'wag nang umattend.

Pa'no kase, parang na-"trauma" aco dun sa nangyari sa'men last week. Pa'no kase, ang pangit talaga ng kanta. Tapos na nga yung Lent pero kala mo Semana Santa. Grabe talaga. Pinagpapawisan at kinakabahan na nga aco habang nakanta sa sobrang pagka'tense at kahihiyan.

Kaya lang, parang ang babaw naman ng reason co para di umattend. Di pa naman nangyari na hindi aco umattend ng choir dahel lang tinatamad aco at ayokong ngayon pa yun mangyari.

Kaya nag'asikaso pa rin aco nung mga quarter to four. By 4:15, lumabas na aco ng bahay.

Nandun si Arbu (as usual) at si Ponce na karaniwan namang na'aattend. Sila Bebe at Mikee ay himalang pumunta.

Dumating din sila Sir Bautista at si Bau. Hmm, muka namang aattend sila. Pinapasok pa nga kame sa loob ng school e.

Naghintay'hintay pa kame pero wala nang nadagdag. Si Jaymiriz na usually e umaattend naman, wala. Si Eday, akala co pa naman aattend dahil nag'GM siya kanina pero wala pa ren.

Amp. Nakaka'inis! Baket ba di sila na'attend!?

Pumunta na rin kame sa church. Ilang minutes pa naman bago mag'simula ang mass.

Maya'maya, dumating si Eday na hingal na hingal. Wow. Buti naman umattend. Galing daw pala sila ni Ginnique kila Ms. Padila.

Nagchi'chikahan kami nang biglang nag'bell na. Waha, umpisa na ng misa.

Okei naman--mas okei kung ico'compare mo ang kanta namen last week at last last week.

Nung pagkatapos ng "Panginoon, Maawa Ka", nagpalit si Eday at Ponce na katabi co sa left side ng position. Sukat ba naman itutok sa'ken ni Eday yung mic! Mahina daw kase.

At kung ano'anong pakulong ginawa. Pinag'solo pa co dun sa "Ikaw na nag'aalis.." ng papuri.

Nung homily na, nag'chikahan kame. Haha, ang sama namen. Ayan, nasayawa tuloi kame ni Sir. Tigil kame e.

Si Bau nga ang tumugtog ng "Take and Recieve" sa offertory. Adik nga e, kung anu'anong ka'echosan ang ginawa.

Amp. Nakaka'inis sila! Nung nakanta sila, tawa ng tawa (pero mahina). Si Arbu daw kase e. Lalo naman Eday. E nung Ama Namin, kami yung magkahawak. Ayun, giggle pa rin sila ng giggle. Sa taas tuloi aco tumingin. Nararamdaman co pa yung pagtawa ni Eday dahil yumuyugyog siya, at nakikita co rin ang pagngiti ni Bau dahil nasa harap co lang siya. Bumitiw tuloi kay Eday para di aco ma'distract.

Ayun, ngitian pa rin sila ng ngitian. Wala namang dahilan. Adik e.

Natapos na rin ang misa. Bumaba na kami.

Nakita namen si Ate Beth, yung president ng Music Ministry. Tinanong pa nga kung sino ang president at tinuturo aco ni sir as the"newly elected president" haha.

May general meeting pala sa Saturday ng 8am ang mga choir, bring our lunch and snacks daw kaya siguro mukang hanggang hapon.

Haay.. Nakakahiyang pumunta. Kase alam naman namen na kami yung pinag'uusapan ng ibang taong'simbahan dahil nga sa marami naming kapalpakan. :c

Pero siempre, pupunta kame. Di naman pwedeng hinde e. Di naman nakakamatay ang hiya ah!

Nakita namin sila Farcon nung nag'PEAC kame. At nung lumabas kame, tinanong aco ng isang babae na kasama yata nila Farcon.

"Ikaw ba yung nagsolo?"

Nagulat aco. Solo?

"Po?"

"Ikaw ba yun?"

Ah, baka kase tunutok aco ng bonggang'bongga ni Eday sa mic kaya aco na yung rinig.

But of course I was reluctant to say yes. Baka sabihen e feeling naman aco.

"Ah.. Eh.." I was like a complete idiot. "Opo?"

They left. At pabulong cong sinabe, "Baket, anong ginawa co? Pangit ba?"

"Sabi co sa'yo e, buti nilapait kita sa mic at binago co yung ayos naten." Sabi ni Eday. "Galing co talaga!" And he start talking jokingly how "great" he is.

Nag'suggest pa nga si Adrian na mag'practice daw kame every week. Ang tentative na napag'usapan e sa Friday, 1pm-4pm sa bahay nila Jas. Pero di pa rin namen napag'uusapan ng maayos ngayon.

Pero sa totoo lang, I don't know what to do without Adrian. Being an inexperience leader, I rely on his abilities as a good leader. Kase hindi naman talaga aco ganun kagaling na leader; the group could somewhat rely on my skills but not on my abilities to govern them. So Adrian is a great help. Actually, dapat talaga siya ang ino'nominate co nung election kaso e napag'tulungan na nila acong maging president.

Saka alam co naman na kahit "nagmamayabang" si Eday, he's not really arrogant. He keeps his feet on the ground kahit mataas na siya, sa totoo lang. Mga biro lang niya 'yon. Ganun talagang tao 'yon, so I don't get offended.

Pagkatapos tumambay ng sandali sa labas ng simbahan, nag-kwek muna kame. At nagchika'chikahan pa kami.Nakita pa nga namen si Ginnique e.

We parted ways after that Kinulit'kulit co pa nga si Eday na pumunta aco sa bahay nila pero talagang matigas ang pagtanggi, as usual. So umuwi na lang kami.

I'm kinda happy today. :)

Ngayon ang aking pagbabalik sa aking teks life. Nakaka'bore kase sa bahai e; di na co parating nakakapag'computer so lalong wala na acong magawa.

Nakakatuwa nga, kase mai nag'welcome back pa sa'ken sa GMs nila. Ang tagal co rin kaseng nawala e, 2 months din yata.

Ewan co kung kelan ang sunod na hybernation period co. >.<

hanggang sa naalala co na mai blogspot echos nga pala. kaya ito, napadpad aco sa (tada!) blogger.com! at eto na nga, may blog na aco! whoo! magdiwang!

XD
